SOP Domain and Account Setup on Infrastructure

Objective

Set up domains and email accounts to be used in cold email outreach campaigns.

Definition of Done:

• The domains are registered
• The DNS of the domains is configured
• The domain is active on cold email infrastructure
• The accounts are active on cold email infrastructure

Step-By-Step Process

Step 1: Register Domains

• Log into DNSimple with Operations user account, the credentials are in 1Password vault.
• Ensure there's a domain registrar contact for the customer.
• Register new domains using the customer's domain registrar contact as the primary contact and owner for the domain.

Step 2: Add Domains to Nellis

• Register the customer to Nellis if the customer does not yet use our cold email infrastructure.
• Add the registered domains under the customer account.

Step 3: Add Email Accounts to Nellis

• For each domain, add the new email accounts according to the sender identity provided by the customer or the onboarding team.

Step 4: Verify DNS

• Run DNS verification command for the newly registered and configured domains.
• If any issues were found, report to Slack Team Channel.

Step 5: Verify email delivery for the accounts

• Run a deliverability test on the domains.
